As I am moving forward with my project, "A day in the life" I have been actively seeking out my friends to help with the process. I posted an open ended post on Facebook with a general need for models for my next session. Jennifer was one of the first to respond. We messaged and I explained the idea I had for the session and she was completely on board. After a few exchanged messages we finalized a date and time for me to come a photograph the family.
I was able to spend about an hour and a half with this family. While this is not an entire day, it is a glimpse into the life of a child, or in this case, children.
While Jennifer and I talked, the kids played. Her daughter had a friend over and they ran back into the house to play. Her son remained outside with us, playing in the yard with a frisbee and his rocket toy. He sailed each, interchangeably, into the air and chased the toys wherever they landed, even if it was in one of the gardens. "We have found the most random things in there…tools, balls, even a stuffed angry bird!" said Jennifer. Their yard is very large and has a few paths weaving through the lush, beautiful gardens.
Inside, Jennifer's daughter Brigid was playing the piano with her friend who was over for a visit. Shortly after, her friends mother arrived and we said our hello's and goodbye's. The kids and I hung out in the living room with crazy cat for a bit. Oh her name is Jett, the crazy cat.
Stay tuned for Part Two! Thanks for reading. xo -Danielle
